“@kanyewest asked permission to sample a section of a 1983 live performance of ‘Iron Man’ from the US festival without vocals and was refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many,” Ozzy wrote on X Friday afternoon.

“He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night,” the 75-year-old continued. “I want no association with this man!”

The former rock star’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, who was raised Jewish, told TMZ on Friday that “Kanye f—ed with the wrong Jew this time,” adding that she and Ozzy had already sent a cease-and-desist order to Ye.

Sharon, 71, reportedly told the outlet that a representative from Kanye’s team reached out about three weeks ago asking permission to sample the Black Sabbath song, and was met with an “absolutely not” from her husband.

She added that Ye, who’s had a fall from grace over the last few years due to his frequent antisemitic remarks and praising of Hitler, now “represents hate.” She went on to call him “dangerous” and a “pig.”

The Osbournes’ sentiments come despite West publicly issuing an apology to the Jewish community in December.

“It was not my intention to offend or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” the rapper said in an Instagram post written in Hebrew, which has since been deleted.

Meanwhile, after Ozzy’s tirade on social media, some users were quick to point out that he himself once cited Hitler as an influence.

During a 1982 interview on the TV series “Night Flight,” Ozzy acknowledged that what the Nazi leader did was bad, but said, “Adolf Hitler had a charisma, in a bad way, and I kind of admired him.”

O.J. Simpson denies hospice rumors amid reports of prostate cancer, chemotherapy https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/09/oj-simpson-prostate-cancer-diagnosis-rumors-denies-hospice/ Fri, 09 Feb 2024 23:06:16 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7515005 O.J. Simpson is reportedly undergoing chemotherapy despite the NFL Hall-of-Famer and famously acquitted murder defendant posting a video on Friday in which he appeared to flaunt his good health.

News broke earlier in the day that the 76-year-old was diagnosed with prostate cancer, after a report was widely shared from Miami’s ABC affiliate Local10, citing sources close to the matter.

Somehow, a rumor seemed to get back to “The Juice” that people thought he was in hospice care, because he then took to X, sharing a video from behind the wheel of his car and telling the camera, “I’m not in any hospice, I don’t know who put that out there.”

Simpson didn’t address the cancer or chemo reports but added that he’s “hosting a ton of friends for the Super Bowl here in Las Vegas. All is well!”

Back in May, the former Buffalo Bills star briefly glossed over the fact that he had undergone chemotherapy for a cancer diagnosis in a separate video.

“[I] unfortunately caught cancer” in recent years, he told the camera, and “had to do the whole chemo thing,” Simpson said. He didn’t offer any additional details but clarified that he was “over the chemo stuff” now.

It’s unclear whether the latest reports of prostate cancer are connected to the previous diagnosis he shared, but from the clip posted Friday, it appears he’s at least healthy enough to host a Super Bowl party at his Las Vegas home.

Simpson moved into a gated community in Sin City after serving nine years in a Nevada prison for armed robbery.

In 2007, he was caught leading a group of five men into a confrontation with several sports collectibles dealers in a Las Vegas casino. The football legend maintained that he had only aimed to take back personal mementoes and items which were previously stolen from him.

The incident came a little over a decade after Simpson was acquitted in what became known as “The Trial of the Century,” surrounding the double murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994.

Bobbi Althoff divorce due to her rising fame, not Drake: report https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/09/bobbi-althoff-divorce-husband-fame-drake/ Fri, 09 Feb 2024 05:18:02 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7514194 Podcaster Bobbi Althoff’s rising fame was a threat to her now-estranged husband, who filed for divorce on Wednesday because he did not want a life in the limelight, a source close to the couple told TMZ.

Cory Althoff, 34, wanted to maintain his normal lifestyle as a software company executive, the source told the gossip site. The news came after many speculated the separation was related to Bobbi’s awkward interview and mysterious falling out with rapper Drake.

In his court documents, Cory cited July 4 as the date he and Bobbi split up, which was around the same time the podcaster landed Drake on her show, “The Really Good Podcast.”

The interview featured Bobbi Althoff and Drake in bed together — and fully clothed — having an awkward conversation. Online users questioned why the interview was deleted in August, and TMZ’s sources confirm that the two had a major falling out.

The Grammy-winning artist apparently invited the podcaster to one of his concerts in L.A. on Aug. 12, but only offered her a general admission pass.

Sources say the podcaster was upset she did not receive a VIP pass and even tried to force her way backstage at one point. She was even captured in a video by fans during the night looking less-than-pleased.

“As most of you have heard, Cory and I have filed for divorce,” Bobbi wrote on Instagram late Wednesday. “As sad as I am right now, I am so thankful for the time I got to be his wife.”

The two share daughters Isla, 1, and Luca, 3, and the father is reportedly seeking joint physical and legal custody of the children.

Super Bowl LVIII commercials: A sneak peek at Sunday’s best ads https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/08/super-bowl-commercials-sneak-peek-best-ads/ Fri, 09 Feb 2024 01:18:25 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7513534 Super Bowl Sunday is right around the corner, and companies have been saving their best for what’s still considered the biggest advertising day of the year.

Commercials for Super Bowl LVIII reportedly have an average cost of $7 million per 30 seconds of air-time — up 75% from roughly $4 million a decade ago.

As the buzz builds around what will surely be the most-watched event of the year (Super Bowl LVII took the crown in 2023 with over 115 million viewers), some companies have gotten into the habit of releasing their spots a few days before kickoff.

So far, some of our favorites include an action-packed Doritos ad with two gravity-defying grandmothers, as well as Sir Patrick Stewart donning a leather helmet on Paramount Mountain. Here’s our list of the best Super Bowl sneak peeks:

Doritos Dinamita

Jenna Ortega’s faux-grandmothers “Dina and Mita” go on the attack, after the last bag of Doritos Dinamita are taken from the grocery store. “It’s not ‘dynamite,’ it’s ‘Dinamita,'” is sure to be one of the more memorable lines from this year’s ads.

Paramount+

Sir Patrick Stewart still has his old football uniform, and he’s only got one play on his wristband: “Throw the Child.” In this case, the child just so happens to be Arnold from Nickelodeon’s “Hey Arnold!,” with his football-shaped head.

The star-studded commercial also includes NFL quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst, Knuckles from the “Sonic” franchise, talk show host Drew Barrymore, and cartoon Peppa Pig, among other stars and characters — showcasing the streamer’s wide-ranging viewing options.

Uber Eats

“In order to remember something, you gotta forget something else,” is Jennifer Aniston’s mantra in this Uber Eats commercial, which leads to an awkward interaction with her former “Friends” co-star David Schwimmer.

Even more frightening, “Posh Spice” Victoria Beckham can’t seem to remember the name of her former girl group, while country star Jelly Roll doesn’t recall getting face tattoos.

Coors Light

The Coors Light “Chill Train” is back, and makes a Kool-Aid Man-esque entrance into a family’s living room. But when you see who’s driving, you can’t be mad. Besides, he knows a “guy who can fix this.”

Oreo

Oreo’s first Super Bowl ad since 2013 takes an alternative look at decisions that have shaped history, from the famed Trojan Horse entering the city of Troy, to Kris Jenner signing the first contract for “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” Have people really been “twisting on everything this whole time?”

Google Pixel

In one of the more heartfelt commercials of the year, Google Pixel follows a blind man named Javier as he uses “Guided Frame” mode on the Pixel 8 to capture significant moments throughout his life. When you hear the beeping of the heart monitor, just make sure there’s a Kleenex nearby.

Bud Light

Everyone’s wildest dream instantly comes true in this Bud Light commercial, which appears to pitch the product as some type of magic genie. Did Post Malone really wish for a T-Rex? It seems like the wishes in this one could’ve been better.

Dove

Dove uses this 30-second spot to champion its Body Confident Sport program, which aims to make the world of sports a stronger place of belonging for young girls. As it notes in the ad, “45% of girls quit sports by age 14,” but it’s not due to the hard knocks.

Booking.com

There are only three alternate versions of Tina Fey in the Fey-verse, but they’re all amazing. Booking.com gets the message across in an incredibly efficient manner, employing other fan-favorites including Jane Krakowski (as Splurgey Tina) and Glenn Close (as Wild Tina). Who are you booking with?

BetMGM

Sorry, Tom Brady! In this BetMGM commercial, the G.O.A.T. has won too much and is therefore not allowed to keep winning. But good news for everyone else who isn’t Tom Brady — if you love sports betting, you’re in.

Robert De Niro says grandson’s overdose death ‘shouldn’t have happened’ https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/07/robert-de-niro-grandson-overdose-disbelief/ Thu, 08 Feb 2024 04:21:56 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7512912 Robert De Niro was in “disbelief” after hearing of the death of his grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, last July.

“It’s just a shock,” the star told People Magazine on Wednesday. “[I] never thought it would happen.”

The 19-year-old grandson died in New York City on July 2 from what a medical examiner determined was an overdose of “fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine,” according to a report.

“I just then started thinking about all the things I could have, should have done maybe with him,” said Robert De Niro, 80. “I don’t know if that would’ve made a difference. And so that’s always playing through my mind.”

Leandro De Niro was the only son of the actor’s daughter Drena, 56. The youth’s body was found in a Financial District apartment, after his mother claimed he was sold “fentanyl-laced pills” that he believed to be oxycodone.

“It shouldn’t have happened,” Robert De Niro was quoted as saying by People, calling the tragedy “awful.”

Sophia Marks, 20, was arrested less than two weeks after the death for allegedly selling the drugs that led to the grandson’s overdose. She was charged with three counts of narcotics distribution, each of which carry sentences of up to 20 years behind bars.

Marks also sold the fentanyl-laced pills to an undercover cop prior to her arrest, according to a criminal complaint previously obtained by the Daily News.

“[P]lease be careful with these. [D]on’t do more than one at a time … my friend just died,” she allegedly told the officer, referring to a different 19-year-old who died the previous month.

Ohio revises proposed gender-affirming restrictions after public outcry https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/07/ohio-revises-plans-gender-affirming-restrictions/ Thu, 08 Feb 2024 03:29:02 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7512832 Ohio is revising its controversial plan to restrict gender-affirming care for adults, with tweaked proposals being issued Wednesday following a wave of public backlash.

The Ohio Health Department said it received comments from the public that demonstrated “significant interest in the original draft’s impact on adult patients,” according a Wednesday memo.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s administration originally aimed to require psychiatrists, endocrinologists and medial ethicists to have a say in gender-affirming care plans that clinics and hospitals offered to patients.

Additionally, patients under 21 would have needed at least six months of counseling before receiving gender-affirming surgery or starting hormone treatment.

“It is a policy project that attempts to make it so onerous, so restrictive to get care, that people are functionally unable to do so,” said Kellan Baker, executive director of the Whitman-Walker Institute, an organization focused on LGBTQ+ health.

But as of Wednesday, the state’s Department of Health and Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services appeared to be swayed by the response from transgender people and care providers.

The revised rules would now only apply to gender-affirming care of minors while still requiring patients under 18 to receive at least six months of mental health counseling prior to any gender-affirming medications or surgeries.

Under the new plans, the list of mental health professionals allowed to provide counseling was also expanded to include school psychologists, clinical nurses, social workers and some physicians.

State agencies are now expected to review the rules before they are finalized and set into law this April.

Of 21 states that have instituted laws banning aspects of gender-affirming care in the last few years, only Florida has extended restrictions to adults.

Britney Spears claims she once made out with Ben Affleck, perhaps while dating Justin Timberlake https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/07/britney-spears-made-out-ben-affleck-justin-timberlake/ Thu, 08 Feb 2024 02:37:33 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7512609 Britney Spears on Wednesday shared a now-deleted Instagram post in which she claimed to have made out with Ben Affleck in the summer of 1999 — perhaps while she was already dating Justin Timberlake.

The throwback photo — captured by TMZ before it was deleted — showed Spears, Affleck, and songwriter Diane Warren posing at a party reportedly in June or July, celebrating the release of Spears’ debut album, “…Baby One More Time,” earlier that year.

“Cool pic of me and Ben Affleck and Diane Warren years ago!!! He’s such an amazing actor,” Spears, 42, captioned the post. “Did I fail to mention I made out with Ben that night … I honestly forgot … damn that’s crazy!!!”

“Wish I could tell you guys the story that happened before that!!! Oh dear, I’m just being a gossip girl,” Spears added, seeming to imply there were some juicy details to the story.

It’s unclear why the post was taken down so quickly, but it marked the first time Spears claimed anything of the sort occurred between the two. No mention of the makeout was made in Spears’ recently released memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in which she went into great detail about her past relationships.

There’s also been no word on the matter from Affleck, but if what Spears claims is true, the kiss would have occurred when she was 17 and Affleck was 26. There’s also the possibility they were both in relationships with other people at the time.

From 1997 to 2000, Affleck was in an on-and-off relationship with actress Gwyneth Paltrow, while Spears previously revealed Timberlake asked her out prior to the release of her debut album in January 1999.

The post comes in the wake of an ongoing feud between Spears and Timberlake, which has been brewing ever since she shared damaging details in her memoir released last October.

Among those claims, Spears alleged she and Timberlake mutually cheated on each other during their relationship, which ended in 2002.

Donna Kelce likely not sitting in ‘pricey’ box with Taylor Swift at Super Bowl https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/07/donna-kelce-taylor-swift-super-bowl-seating/ Wed, 07 Feb 2024 23:30:26 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7512292 Donna Kelce indicated that she won’t be seated with Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl on Sunday, telling the hosts of “TODAY” that she’ll most likely be seated in the stands due to the high costs of box suites.

“You can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multi-million dollars,” Kelce said during an interview on Wednesday.

While the mother of Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce has been seen sitting in boxes next to Swift at many of the Chiefs games this season, she claims this Sunday will be different.

“I have a feeling I’m not in a box, I have a feeling I’m in the stands,” she said of whether she’d be sitting with her son’s girlfriend. “As far as I know I’m in the stands with everybody else because it is a pricey Super Bowl.”

The 71-year-old — whose other son is follow NFL star Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles — also discussed a photo of her with Taylor Swift and several others at the AFC Championship game, which recently became her new cover photo on Facebook. She says the snap was taken following the Jan. 28 game that secured the Chiefs’ spot in the Super Bowl.

“That was a picture where all of us were so excited that we were in the suite. And we were so excited that they made it to the Super Bowl that we just took a shot of everybody that was there,” she explained. “So it wasn’t anything calculating or anything like that. It just was everybody who was supporting my son and I was so happy to put that picture on Facebook.”

Looking ahead to the big game on Feb. 11, “Mama Kelce” — as she’s affectionately known — said she tries not to disturb her sons on game days. Instead, she’ll typically send them a text with “a little encouragement” the night before.

The upcoming Super Bowl LVIII between Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will be Travis’ fourth Super Bowl appearance in just five years.

But whether or not Swift will be in attendance to cheer on her boyfriend has yet to be confirmed as she wraps up the Tokyo legs of her international Eras Tour.

Brad Pitt was ‘volatile,’ combative on set, director says in new memoir https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/06/brad-pitt-edward-zwick-memoir-legends-fall-set/ Wed, 07 Feb 2024 03:49:16 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7511291 Brad Pitt could be “volatile” and “edgy” on the set of the 1994 Western romance “Legends of the Fall,” according to the film’s director, Edward Zwick.

Zwick’s new memoir, “Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years in Hollywood,” is being released next week, and the book’s publisher Vanity Fair shared some choice excerpts on Tuesday, including some critical comments about the actor.

Zwick writes that the star tried to back out after just the first table read.

“Brad wanted to quit,” he recalled, although the star was ultimately convinced to stay on the project.

“It fell to [producer] Marshall [Herskovitz] to talk Brad off the ledge,” Zwick wrote. “It was the first augury of the deeper springs of emotion roiling inside Brad. He seems easygoing at first, but he can be volatile when riled, as I was to be reminded more than once as shooting began and we took each other’s measure.”

Zwick, 71, added that he and Pitt, 60, often clashed over the amount of emotion needed for the character, claiming that when he pushed the actor to “reveal himself,” he often resisted.

Occasionally, Pitt “would get edgy whenever he was about to shoot a scene that required him to display deep emotion,” the director wrote.

In one instance, Zwick gave feedback to Pitt in front of the cast and crew, which allegedly set the actor off.

“I don’t know who yelled first, who swore, or who threw the first chair. Me, maybe? But when we looked up, the crew had disappeared,” the director wrote.

More “dustups” followed, but the two were always able to make up afterwards. Zwick also complimented Pitt in his book, calling the actor “a forthright, straightforward person, fun to be with and capable of great joy. He was never anything less than fully committed to doing his best.”

Pitt’s yet to comment on the unflattering characterizations.

Comedian Shane Gillis’ racist, homophobic slurs resurface ahead of ‘SNL’ hosting gig 5 years after firing https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/02/06/shane-gillis-racist-homophobic-slurs-resurface-snl/ Wed, 07 Feb 2024 02:40:51 +0000 https://www.nydailynews.com/?p=7510993 Racist, homophobic and ethnic slurs used by comedian Shane Gillis have resurfaced online in the wake of the news he’ll be hosting “Saturday Night Live” — the show that once fired him due to his past problematic behavior.

‘SNL’ on Saturday announced Gillis as the host of its Feb. 24 episode, alongside musical guest 21 Savage. But it didn’t take long for pushback on the casting decision, with many recalling the controversial jokes and offensive language he previously used on his podcasts.

In clips from the show “A Fair One,” gathered by TMZ on Tuesday, Gillis can be heard using the n-word, as well as homophobic and antisemitic slurs.

Following the hosting announcement, fans also flocked to social media to express their disappointment and disgust.

“So SNL invites a transphobe up to the stage last week, a presidential candidate who espouses anti-LGBTQ hate on tonight, and next week a guy who got fired from SNL for making racist Asian jokes,” actor and writer Jeff Locker wrote on Instagram Saturday. “I’ve loved SNL my whole life, but JFC Lorne, WTF are you doing? This is not f–king OK.”

Gillis was originally hired as an “SNL” cast member in 2019, but was fired days later — before ever appearing on the show — amid public outcry due to previous racist remarks, particularly directed at Asians.

“Chinatown’s f–king nuts. Let the f–king ch—s live there,” Gillis said in a now-deleted video from a 2018 episode of “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with comedian Matt McCusker. Gillis in the clip also mimicked a Chinese accent and made fun of Chinese restaurants.

The backlash quickly led “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels to release a statement saying the comedian would not be joining the show after all.

“We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days,” the statement said at the time. “The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.”

The comedian fired back initially, joking on Twitter that he was “always a Mad TV guy anyway,” before issuing an apology on Instagram to “anyone who’s actually offended by anything I’ve said.”

“I’m a comedian who pushes boundaries. I sometimes miss. If you go through my 10 years of comedy, most of it bad, you’re going to find a lot of bad misses,” he added.

As of Tuesday evening, representatives for Gillis had not returned a request for comment. “SNL” has also not commented on what led to their decision to bring Gillis back.
